Claudia Wright Essay Prize

In honour of Professor Claudia Wright (1940-2009), the Political Science Department awards an annual prize for  outstanding essay(s) written by a student or students from any Political Science course, from first-year to graduate-level students.  Political Science faculty may nominate papers throughout the Spring, Fall and Winter terms of the school year.  A committee of no less than three Political Science faculty reviews and selects the winner and runners-up in late spring.  Depending on the quality of the entries, the number of runners-up may vary from year to year.

Winner and Runners-up of the prize for the 2020-21 school year

Winner:  Luc Moulaison - paper nominated by Prof. Tanya Narozhna, for Pol 4121 - Global Security Studies titled From Omnipotence to Impotence: A Critique of Giorgio Agamben's Theory of the State.  $200.00 award.

Runner-up:  Tyson C. Priebe - paper nominated by Prof. Aaron Moore, for Pol 4505 - Politics of Urban Development titled Growth Defined: Urban Governance Theories Applied to 澳门王中王论坛's Impact Fee By-Law.  $75.00 award.

Runner-up:  Kyle Friesen - paper nominated by Prof. Tanya Narozhna, for Pol 4121 - Global Security Studies titled Stronger Together: Problem-Solving and Critical Theory, Covid-19, and Critical Human Security.  $75.00 award.
