Current Topics in Biomedical Science

Overview

The module is tutor-led with emphasis on student participation and presentations as a regular feature. The aim is to become aware of a variety of current issues in biomedical science and the mechanisms by which they are communicated within the scientific community. The student will search, analyse and evaluate published journal articles and web-based material and will actively communicate findings using PowerPoint techniques. 

On completing the course, students will be able to:

  1. Prepare a critical and professional evaluation pertaining to ethical issues in biomedical science.
  2. Analyze the recent research published by other scientists in the selected topic.
  3. Justify the limitations of the scientific information collected on the reviewed topic.
