ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ University Press Hosts Hong Kong Delegation on Elderly Care and Nursing

 

03 December 2024, Bandar ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ – As part of ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ University Press’ mission to foster international partnerships and explore publishing opportunities in health and elderly care, the Press facilitated a visit by a Hong Kong delegation from the Elderly Services Association of Hong Kong. Led by Dr Hon Ngan Man-yu, Frankie, the delegation aimed to explore nurse training and elderly care services in Malaysia, with a particular focus on dementia care.

Professor Sibrandes Poppema, President of ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ University, welcomed the delegation and participated in discussions on advancing healthcare and elderly care knowledge exchange. 

The delegation also engaged with the School of Medical and Life Sciences, meeting Professor Khatijah Abdullah, Professor Chia Yook Chin and Dr Daniel Cheng,  to discuss Malaysia’s approach to nurse training and elderly care. The delegates toured the University’s state-of-the-art nursing labs, gaining insights into the practical training facilities for nursing students.

The visit concluded with a networking lunch at and tour of ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ Sanctuary, ΊμΠΣΚΣơ’s fully integrated senior living residence and community. This initiative highlighted ΊμΠΣΚΣΖ΅ University Press's dedication to fostering international partnerships and advancing education, healthcare, and elderly care through publishing.
