Bridging Cultures Through Language and Exploration
From 8th to 24th January 2025, 21 students from Sunchon National University, South Korea and Wuchang Shuoyi University, China participated in the Vacation English Programme at the Centre for English Language Studies (CELS). This unique programme combined English language learning with cultural immersion, providing a holistic and engaging experience for the participants.
The programme’s core focus was to enhance English proficiency by creating an interactive and supportive learning environment. Through lessons tailored to improve speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, students gained practical language abilities. Group activities and discussions encouraged cross-cultural communication, allowing students from different nationalities to share experiences and broaden their global perspectives.
Outside the classroom, the students had the opportunity to experience Malaysian culture and attractions. A KL City Tour was one of the highlights, where students explored iconic destinations like Central Market, Chinatown, and the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory. This excursion allowed them to appreciate Malaysia’s history, traditional crafts, and the vibrant atmosphere of its bustling city life.
The programme also included an exciting day at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Lagoon, where students bonded through thrilling rides, water park adventures, and team challenges. This day of fun and relaxation brought students closer together, creating lasting memories and strengthening friendships.
The Vacation English Programme was a resounding success, blending language learning with cultural discovery. It left students with enhanced English skills, meaningful international connections, and an unforgettable experience of Malaysia's rich heritage and attractions.
