ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University Earns Spot as Finalist at Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2024

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ iLabs at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University has solidified its reputation for innovation and excellence by being named one of the eight finalists for the Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year category at the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2024. Known as the “Oscars of Higher Educationâ€, these awards recognise outstanding achievements across Asia’s higher education landscape, celebrating creativity, impact, and leadership.  

As the only Malaysian university entry in this category, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ iLabs stood among Asia's leading higher education institutions. This recognition underscores the impact and calibre of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ iLabs’ initiatives, highlighted by its inclusion in the final shortlist. The award ultimately went to the National University of Singapore (NUS), a top institution in the region.

Phil Baty, Chief Knowledge Officer of THE, noted, “These awards celebrate the continent’s most innovative and impressive higher education achievements. The submissions exemplify the transformative power of higher education in shaping lives regionally, nationally, and internationally.â€

The Entrepreneurial Mindset and Skills (EMS) module, integrated with the game-based learning tool "Paradox of Theron" (POT), was central to this recognition. This innovative module equips students with essential entrepreneurial skills, combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications to foster problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration across disciplines.

Being named a finalist highlights the dedication of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ iLabs and ºìÐÓÊÓƵ University to pushing the boundaries of educational innovation. This achievement reflects their unwavering commitment to achieving educational excellence through innovative teaching and learning strategies, creating transformative learning experiences for students.
