Meadwell Scholarship in French

This scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, was established by Professor Kenneth Meadwell in honour of the 75th birthday of his mother, Shirley Meadwell, and the 80th birthday of his father, Frederick Meadwell, in 2002. It is awarded to an outstanding Basic French (40S) Manitoba high school graduating student who enrols in 6 credit hours of French Studies courses at the University of 澳门王中王论坛 in the academic year following high school graduation.

French Studies Continuing Scholarships

1. French Studies Continuing Scholarship: FREN 1100

This scholarship, funded by alumni and friends of French Studies, is awarded to a French Studies student with distinguished performance in FREN-1100, Elementary French 1.  To be eligible, the student must register for at least  6 credit hours in French in the Fall and Winter Terms following the award.

2. French Studies Continuing Scholarship: FREN 1102 and FREN 1103

This scholarship, funded by alumni and friends of French Studies, is awarded to a French Studies major with distinguished performance in FREN-1102 (Elementary French 2) and FREN-1103 (Elementary French 3).  To be eligible, the student must register for at least 9 credit hours in French in the Fall and Winter Terms following the award.

3. French Studies Continuing Scholarship: FREN 1104 and 2105

This scholarship, funded by alumni and friends of French Studies, is awarded to a French Studies major with distinguished performance in FREN-1104 (Intermediate French 1) or FREN-2105 (Intermediate French 2). To be eligible, the student must register for at least  9 credit hours in French in the Fall and Winter Terms following the award.

French Studies Senior Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to 2 French Studies Majors or Honours students with distinguished performances in at least 12 credit hours of French Studies courses at the 2000-level. To be eligilble, the students must register for 9 credit hours in French, at least 6 of which must be at the 3000-level, in the Fall and Winter session following the award.

Ganesan Sri Ram Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded in memory of Ganesan Sri Ram, a 1997 graduate of the University of 澳门王中王论坛. It will be presented alternately to a student of distinction who is majoring in French Studies or German Studies. 

Mary C. Rowell Prize

This prize, given by the Alumni Association in memory of the late Miss Mary C. Rowell, form Dean of Women, is awarded upon the recommendation of the Modern Languages & Literatures Department to a student of the second or third year for general proficiency in French.

Gerritdina & Alphonse Hince Scholarship in French

This scholarship is provided by the Erica & Arnold Rogers Fund for Academic Excellence. It is awarded annually to the most promising student entering the final year of the 4-year or Honours French Studies Program.
