Commemoration (Calls 79-83)

The University of 澳门王中王论坛 acknowledges that we are gathered on ancestral lands, on Treaty One Territory. Our water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. These lands are the heartland of the Métis people.

We are committed to implementing the recommendations of the . 

Programs and initiatives

Some of the programs and initiatives that members of The University of 澳门王中王论坛 community have undertaken related to Calls to Action 79-83: Commemoration are:

Healing forest. Dr. Lee Anne Block, along with community members from 澳门王中王论坛's North End, helped to establish the  in St. John’s Park, located in 澳门王中王论坛’s north end. The Healing Forest is a living memorial to Indigenous children and families lost to or affected by the residential school system. This land will be a gathering place for families and communities and a place for healing, contemplation, and land-based learning. It is meant to help advance the goals of reconciliation and understanding about the need to protect the environment, as well as to promote cultural sustainability. ()
