Mature Access

Who Can Apply for Admission as a Mature Access Student?

If you do not meet the University’s requirements for admission as a Mature Status student, you can still apply for admission as a Mature Access student.

To apply for admission as a Mature Access student:

  • you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
  • you will turn at least 24 years of age in the calendar year in which you register for courses for the first time
  • you have not graduated from high school or completed any university or college courses.

How Can I Apply for Admission as a Mature Access Student?

When you apply online for admission as a Mature Access student, you must hand in to Student Central, first floor of the Rice Centre, 489 Portage Avenue, attention Adult Learner Services/ Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), or to the Aboriginal Student Services Centre, 2L01, second floor of Lockhart Hall the following documents:

  • proof of your date of birth
  • an
  • an official transcript from your secondary school showing your highest grade level
  • a Statement of Intent - you can read how to write this Statement of Intent in the Mature Access Application Guidelines [PDF].
  • it would be best to apply for admission by these dates:
      • Fall term - July 2
      • Winter term - November 1
      • Spring term - March 1
