Paige Sillaby
Paige is Anishinaabe kwe from the Chippewas of Georgina Island, Otter clan. She was raised on Dokis First Nation, a small community in northern Ontario. Recently, she completed her undergraduate at Wilfrid Laurier University in Global Studies with a minor in Psychology.
Paige is actively involved and identifies with her Aboriginal heritage. She has worked at Laurier’s Aboriginal Student Centre for over 4 years, working in a variety of student staff positions, including First Year Student Success Officer, Intern, and Assistant Researcher. From 2014-2015 she served as President of Laurier’s Aboriginal Students’ Association. Also, she was a member of the student hand drum group and is a proud hand drum carrier. When she is not studying, Paige enjoys attending ceremonies such as Sundance, sweat lodge and pow wows. In her future career, Paige aspires to continue her work supporting Aboriginal student initiatives within education.
