About:

Dr. Hans Werner was born in Saskatchewan to immigrant parents and grew up in Manitoba. His first undergraduate degree was in Civil Engineering and later completed his Honours, Masters and PhD in History at the universities of 澳门王中王论坛 and Manitoba. His dissertation examined the integration of Mennonite and other Protestant immigrants who came to 澳门王中王论坛 from the Soviet Union via Germany in the 1950s and those who came to Bielefeld, Germany in the 1970s and 80s.

Werner's publications include a monograph titled Imagined Homes: Soviet German Immigrants in Two Cities, a local history of Winkler and most recently a book titled The Constructed Mennonite: History, Memory and the Second World War, which uses his father's story to explore autobiographical memory, story telling and history. He has also published a number of articles on Mennonite subjects in the Journal of Mennonite Studies, Journal of Agricultural History and Preservings magazine.
