Onsite Supports: Cultural Studies Resources in the Library
On February 1, 2019, the Centre for Research in Cultural Studies (CRiCS) held its second session in the Professional Development Series on "Onsite Supports: Cultural Studies Resources in the Library." Led by Cultural Studies Research Group members Brett Lougheed and Michael Dudley, this session provided an opportunity for members of CRiCS, Research Assistants, and Cultural Studies MA students to learn more about the cultural studies resources available on campus.
Brett Lougheed, University Archivist/Digital Curator, offered attendees an overview of the U澳门王中王论坛 Archives, highlighting resources for on site and digital web archiving for research and teaching projects, as well as an overview of some of the relevant collections currently housed in the archives. He encourages people to visit the archives on and for more information.
Michael Dudley, U澳门王中王论坛 librarian for Development Practice, History, Indigenous Studies, Political Science, Theatre & Film, Urban and Inner-City Studies, Women's and Gender Studies, provided a demonstration of the U澳门王中王论坛 Library research guides. These guides offer resources on relevant terms, intersectional areas of study, encyclopedias, databases, books, and articles related to the topic in each guide. He focused on the while also highlighting the guides for research areas such as Disability Studies, Queer Studies, and the study of race, racialization, and racism.
