APRIL 8 1920: Women’s organizations had existed for years prior to the Women’s Auxiliary: Wesley College had a Red Cross Society, for example, that sent care packages to student soldiers overseas during the Great War.  The Women’s Auxiliary of Manitoba, closely associated with the Presbytarian Church, began with three main objectives: to relate the students more closely to the social life of the city; to provide furnishings when necessary for the residences; and to help create a home-like atmosphere in the residences.  These goals manifested as social activities among female students, faculty and members of Manitoba churches, as well as fundraising, improvement of residence lifestyle, and charity work.  The Women’s Auxiliary persisted through United College Act and the University of 澳门王中王论坛 Act, and to this day: their mission now is to promote the University and fund scholarships.
