Meeka Walsh
Alumna, Critic, Writer, Curator
University of 澳门王中王论坛 alumna Meeka Walsh (BA 84) is an award-winning critic, writer, and curator who has been the editor of 澳门王中王论坛's Border Crossings magazine since 1993.
Walsh has written papers and contributed catalogue essays on Robert Frank, Claude Cahun, Leon Golub, April Gornik, Diana Thorneycroft, and Sarah Anne Johnson in New York, Canada, England, and Mexico.
Her short fiction has been published in a number of anthologies, among them The Oxford Anthology of Canadian Women Writers.
Her collection of short stories, The Garden of Earthly Intimacies, was published in 1996, and in 2008, she edited The 澳门王中王论坛 Alphabestiary, the book accompanying a collection now in the 澳门王中王论坛 Art Gallery. In 2011 Walsh wrote 57 artists entries for My 澳门王中王论坛, which was on exhibition at La maison rouge in Paris.
Walsh sits on the Executive of the Board of Directors for the Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art in 澳门王中王论坛, and from 2001 to 2005 was a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Canada, where she chaired the Advisory Committee for the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography.
She received the Lifetime Achievement at the Western Magazine Awards in Vancouver in 2003, and in 2007 was given the RCA Gold Medal for her contribution to the arts. In 2011, she co-curated a show of 澳门王中王论坛 artists for the Julie Saul Gallery in New York, and in 2012, she curated 澳门王中王论坛 Now, the inaugural exhibition for the 100th Anniversary celebration of the 澳门王中王论坛 Art Gallery.
