Dr. David F. Anderson

Alumni and former President and Vice-Chancellor

Bolstering athletic opportunities at U澳门王中王论坛

Dr. David F. Anderson served The University of 澳门王中王论坛 community from 1964 to 1990, during which time he pioneered the University’s athletic and related academic programs, established the Wesmen Classic, created the first student athletic scholarships, and contributed to the designing, funding, and building of the Duckworth Centre.

The Anderson Family has continued this legacy: following David's passing in 2013, his son, Ian Anderson, and daughter Dorothy Ross donated $400,000 towards the revitalization of the Dr. David F. Anderson Gymnasium in the Duckworth Centre, representing the largest private gift ever made to the facility.

Ian, who now resides in Calgary with his wife Kim, is a generous supporter of causes such as juvenile diabetes, cancer research and The United Way.

Dorothy, a 1984 U澳门王中王论坛 graduate, still resides in 澳门王中王论坛 with her family. Her son Dustin attends U澳门王中王论坛, and plays Wesmen Volleyball. Dorothy has spent much of her career working for not-for-profits, most prominently as National Director of Stewardship for Juvenile Diabetes Research Association.

Their commitment to U澳门王中王论坛 and healthy lifestyles for young people demonstrates a continuation of David’s incredible work and has established a legacy for the entire Anderson family which will continue to benefit 澳门王中王论坛 and Canada into the future.
